Sigh. Just bang the rocks together. There are more Caravaggios in the same church. Probably a billion dollars worth of art on the walls.

I can narrow it down to the southern hemphispere.

It's Elephant Island, where Shackleton's men waited for him and 4 others to sail to South Georgia to organise their rescue.
The statue is dedicated to the Chilean captain of the small ship, Luis Pardo, who sailed back to Elephant Island to rescue the men.

Much to my chagrin, Elephant Island was unapproachable as we made our way south.
All I have is a few dark and stormy pics…..
We were fortunate to toast his memory with decent Silversea Champagne at the grave site on South Georgia
