We've just had our first "mini" night in Thailand. We arrived Thai time at 1am which was around 4.30am our time. The connections we have to take out of Adelaide added 6 hours to our travel day.
The Emirates flight to BKK left at 7.45pm and having arrived 15 minutes late from Christchurch I think the crew were trying to catch up those 15 minutes of pre flight prep.
As we were taxiing out most of the overhead lockers in J were still open and remained so during the safety talk. Pre flight drinks had only just been dispensed and were half consumed so glassware everywhere.
Finally as we waited to rev up they were closed up.
Dinner took well over 2 hours to arrive and the nuts were quickly consumed while waiting. There was a 15 minute break for turbulence.
MrP received the wrong meal (they had pre ordered) and one crew person just shrugged and asked him if he wanted wine; the other was surprised and changed the meal with not even a sorry. Small things I guess.
I gave up waiting for sweets and went to sleep with tray on top. MrP gave up waiting for his tea and did likewise.
I slept a few hours but was woken up by the loudest snoring. Not MrP, he is quiet. But by this obese gentleman who was in the middle seat. He was sprawled over his seat and the empty seat next to him, flat on his back and going for it.
His arm was into the aisle and it was such a shame when I bumped into it while retreating, moving forward to "the facilities".
. Shame he woke up.
.
When I slid open the door the man was just standing in front of the door completely blocking me from returning to my seat. He seemed surprised he had to get out of my way so he could access the same facilities. I just gave him "my look" as MrP describes it and he moved.
We weren't offered any refreshments then until landing so around 6 hours after dinner.
30 minutes out we had to ask for immigration cards. Oh yeah, that's right. Those things.
But we landed safe and sound so that's good.
I thought the men's and women's kits were generic as they were the same colour.
But when MrP showed me his kit it was much larger than mine.
Men's. Very well kitted out.
Women's kit
Clearly women have no need for anti perspirant as we don't sweat, but glisten. I would have liked an anti-glisten.
And we had three interlopers from Y within the first hour who simply shoved open the curtain to use the bathroom. The crew didn't give a hoot.
