I know I can buy a whole box full, but where might I get a single bag for LAG, for flying US domestic? Currently at LAX. I don't want to waste a whole bunch of them.

I found something appropriate at Office Works. Not an actual LAG bag but it did the job.
Post Offices also sell travel cabin liquid containers(4) in a bag for $9.99 but that may be more than you want to spend.

Thanks Buzzard and Boca, good ideas. I am at LAX leaving in the morning. I had in mind more a budget of a couple of cents for a disposable resealable bag. No doubt I can buy a box of 500 for a dollar or something like that, but I'd prefer to avoid the waste. For instance, at BGI one year security had an arrangement/scam going with the adjacent duty-free shop: they'd send you there to buy a single bag for $5.

It would seem that the size of the ziplock bag cannot exceed 20x20 cm. The four sides added must not exceed 80cm.
I doubt you would find these bags cheaper than in a pack from the supermarket. For example Coles sell 50 18x17cm For $1.80. But not sure you are near a supermarket.

Altenatively, you could just buy a box of large zip lock bags at a supermarket. Maybe a box of 20 for $5.

That's what I do. I buy the higher quality ones like these: https://www.amazon.com/Ziploc-Slider-Storage-Quart-Value/dp/B00HXCNRZ8/ref=sr_1_4_a_it

Don't need that many obviously, but find they work great for repeat use. I have a few boxes at home in case they tare, but I have 2-3 bags all ready to go with different items depending on length of trip/destination.

Never been through a checkpoint anywhere in the world where they've complained either.

I use the chepaest ones and once had to put one inside the other when it all got too much for just one. As you say, no one anywhere has commented on thier use.

some airports do sell them for about a dollar or so but can't remember where I saw them
