If you want prescription sunglasses they can be done in Hong Kong city fairly quickly and cheaply.

I sure you'd be able to get a good deal in Hong Kong. But I actually bought my last pair from duty-free on a Qantas flight and am very happy with them. They were $20 or 2 pairs for $35.

Grabbed a pair of Oakley's (due to leaving a pair I had on a ride when staying at Disneyland) from a Sunglass shop in the Citygate Outlets at Tung Chung.

However, given it was a purchase in haste I'm sure there's cheaper places around!

My wife and I have bought our last 4 pairs of sunglasses (Oakleys, Raybans and Maui Jims) from Optics-Online - go to a local retailer first to find the pair you like, then pay around 40% - 50% less through this company; from memory they are based in Coffs Harbour.
