Where to get a pre-flight COVID-19 test?

You ALWAYS have a right to your pathology reports - though some do want a 7 day delay to allow time for your own doctor to discuss the results with you first when it's a significant result (cancer diagnosis, HIV etc).

For a negative covid test, all the companies should be willing to send you a copy directly. And they will have all those details described (provided it's an accredited lab).

Wow- can’t believe this is for real! That means that most of my upcoming trips will be exempt because I usually only fly over Friday afternoon and then back on Monday.

Provided you can get back on time (ie avoid burst bubble and/or cancelled flights).

Another one for ADL people.

Clinpath at Mile End will do covid travel tests including at weekends. Sunday hours 8am-1pm. Results within 24 hours, sent as an sms link to a PDF doc. Cost $145. Only at their Mile End site on weekends, not available at Ashford or any other site for a weekend travel test.

You must ring up beforehand to give them the info over the phone in order for them to generate the referral form that will be needed (they cannot use a GP referral if it is a travel test). The phone line for this is open Mon-Fri until 4pm. Payment is at the time of the test.

Someone recently posted a $20 discount code for Healius pathology on OzBargain

Using the code flthacks you get a test for $130. Apparently, they get a small commission from using the code, perhaps AFF should partner with some testing providers.

Until NZ removes the test requirement I won't be travelling to NZ, at $450 for a family of 3 for tests plus flights and accommodation, etc makes it not worth it. Either they should have a bubble or don't in my opinion.

The free test I had done in Melbourne had, in the txt, DOB, Date of swab and result (NEGATIVE). Nothing else, just advice to consult my doctor for next steps. Nothing went to a doctor because they had no information.
The paying test from the same clinic gave a text message to look at my emails where the full report was sent with all the required information to travel to NZ.

Question rather assumes a desire to travel to NZ at the moment!
I'm off tomorrow. I'm happy to get stuck on either side of the Tasman but given past history, I think it's much more likely to be stuck in Australia rather than being stuck in NZ trying to get back to AU.

I got my test done at 4-Cyte which cost $120, in Brisbane (Fortitude Valley) they've got an office setup to deal with international travelers only, I was able to pay online and then walk in two afternoons ago with no wait time to get tested. The result was returned exactly 24 hours later.

Others I know got tested Sullivan Nicolaides at a cost of $145, they rocked up first thing in the morning, had to wait for about an hour but did get the results about 9 hours later.

I have another trip planned from VIC to NZ on the 24th - this time for holidays, not work. I really hope this bubble can hold together... Really annoyed at these idiot removalists.

Just like my experience in Melbourne in a pop-up office for travellers only.

Hobart Pathology (part of Sonic Healthcare group) do it for $140 - complete form/pay online and then line up your appointment time if reqd.
Results in less than 24 hrs apparently, and the sort of documentation NZ require can be found here :

Txt mssgs must have a copy of test result.

Also for NZ - dont forget they want you to complete an online registration before you check in fly - personal details, inward flight info, residence in NZ and approx departure date. There's no time limit like arrivals back in Tas - what used to be a rego process max 72 hrs before yr return to Godzone is now max 24 hrs..

Heading over to Queensland tomorrow for my birthday weekend. After all the flight cancelations and re-bookings that Qantas have tortured me over the past few weeks (admittedly, not entirely their fault given all the different lockdowns popping up here and there), I now ended up on a connection that sees me in the country for 69 hours rather. $300 bucks for the two of us that we can spend on a nice birthday dinner instead :D

Random question but do you happen to know if they accept American Express for payment? $120 is the cheapest I've heard of and the Valley might come very convenient for me on one of the next slightly longer trips...
