Planning a trip to Vanuatu in July for 5 days to avoid Melbourne winter. I'm a 30 something solo traveller
who is open to meeting people to have a drink with,
but heard Vanuatu isn't a Hostel type place.

Would appreciate recommendations for boutique accommodation catering for a 20's to 30's crowd, friendly relaxed vibe, easy to get to & from the airport, max budget of $150 p/n but open to cheaper options.

Ps I know Nothing about Vanuatu, so any suggestions or links to other threads would be appreciated

I was in Vanuatu in January. I stayed at the Warwick Le Lagon. It was a bit pricey for what it was, imo. It was a bit more family oriented.
I was told to look at the Iririkiki and the Casino? Which I think is the Grand.
I also considered the Holiday Inn, but not sure why I chose the Warwick.

You can just walk into the ocean see the fish, no need for snorkel gear. The airport is interesting. Don't go 3 hours early, there is nothing there.

I enjoyed Vanutu, it was beautiful! Go and enjoy.

In the past, we go off the main island and go elsewhere (for scuba diving) but because you mentioned hostel type place, we stayed here overnight once: Moorings Hotel Vanuatu - Home . At the time it was advertised as a flash-packers.

Its in Port Vila, just down the road from the port.
