Do you have any plans to avoid the campaign? Or perhaps to throw yourself amongst the hustings?

An overseas trip may avoid the need to vote if you are completely disinterested.

I am most likely to be in OZ as I have no leave programmed for then.

I really don't know yet.

I usually end up doing a postal vote.

London for me; I'll postal vote before I go.

As long as you don't leave too far before the election, as postal votes don't open until a few weeks before. You could always vote at the Aust High Commission on the day.

It would be a bit embarrassing if you forgot.
I have worked at a number of elections in the past, and have always done a pre-poll vote to make sure I didn't forget.

Am I to assume an election has been called?

Last Fed election we were in Perth. Last State election we were in SYD. We both missed voting in the state election as we thought we'd be able to vote at Syd town hall or something, but no such luck. We both wrote an explanation, my wife received a letter back accepting her excuse, I got nothing. Promptly forgot about it and I only yesterday received a letter telling me to pay the $150 fine or they'll take my drivers license off me . I didn't know we lived in a police state!

Hasn't been confirmed yet but I'm likely to be in Prague.

We were meant to be flying to DXB that day but now flying out two days later. We will be at a wedding so will have to vote.

I did forget one year!!! For some reason they didn't use the school for a state election one time. It was annoying the next day when I remembered...

I will be here. Making my vote count. Goodbye Julia

I'll be looking at the footy finals, both AFL & NRL and probably going to a couple of games.

Hopefully the Hawks will be awaiting a preliminary final opponent the next week and Storm playing for a weeks rest.

We'll be heading home from DXB on the 16th too (after 6 weeks on a RTW award). Will gladly come home a few days early if need be to help the red headed one pack her bags to places unknown...........

I will be in Istanbul, so I will not have the huge PLEASURE of see her get the A.SE. But will postal vote, every vote helps.
Goodbye Julia
