In MEL with family. Have previously flown on Xmas day and enjoyed it.

Have previously worked on Xmas day and meh, just another day.

Christmas lunch with family + in-laws of family members.

Then off to BNE airport, Jetstar to Melbourne.
Overnighting in MEL, then flying JQ to SIN.
Overnighting in SIN, then flying CX to CMB.
A few days there, then back in SIN for New Years.
A few days in SIN, then back to MEL and then BNE with JQ.

You havent told us what you're doing ozbeachbabe? :p

I'm working 0500-1430 on Xmas Day but have a 5 day break 26-30 Dec. SO is working in BNE that week but back in DRW on 27 Dec albeit still working up here at other job on his 'days off'.

Mum Dad & Brother will be in SYD but at least we're all in the same country this time. Xmas Day 2008 SO was in POM, Brother in HKG, Dad in SYD & Mum in MEL & me in DRW. As Mum always says ''you don't have to celebrate Xmas on Xmas Day".

The folks are coming to DRW 09-14 Dec to coincide with my uncle & auntie being in DRW 12 Dec onboard the Silver Shadow cruise ship. Passengers are allowed visitors onboard for lunch :p so I'm looking forward to that & we get to celebrate 2 weeks early.

SO arrives on 13 Dec so the four of us will probably go to Hanuman for dinner that night which is always yummy.

That's the plan Stan!

Running around Brisvegas, lunch at ours, breakfast and dinner with rellies.

My family and I are heading to DRW from 24/12 - 28/12... Flying QF J due to the lack of adequate DJ routings from SYD & BNE (bummer!)... we decided to try somewhere different as we were sick of the eastern seaboard.

I have a feeling that it will be hot and humid that time of year

You must go to Hanuman ,divine ( I don't think there is a smiley shortcut for that )

Just curious as to what everyone's going to be doing for Xmas. Are you travelling, working, staying at home & chillin'?

Would be interested to know if anyone has a flight on Xmas Day if if the airline/crew make it extra special in anyway.

Of course if anyone's on QF12 on 24 Dec you won't get Xmas at all will you!

I shall be spending mine in Germany with a family friend's brother (and his family), hoping for my first white Christmas. It will be my first away from home so will be interesting. I fly out 2 days before Christmas (may just grab the end of the Christmas markets, although I am already going to Christmas markets in Bruges (Belgium) and Oslo (Norway) before this trip), flying home on Boxing Day in the evening. It's then back to the airport for a flight out to EDI (and my first chance to try out my BD lounge access) and a week in Scotland, seeing in the New Year there. :D

I'm hoping also to spend it with my soon-to-be-born Niece (I shall be Uncle Flashware in 2.5 weeks!) and rest of the family using Skype.

I have a feeling lots of warm, good food will be consumed with a generous amount of beverages to wash it down

As usual, Xmas dinner at Mum's with whichever members of my family (usually most or all) can make it - never more than ~8 people.

Never flown Xmas Day that I can recall, but ~10 years ago picked up some relos on Xmas Day at MEL who had flown in from CGK. And my niece arrives back in Oz from Europe this Xmas day on EK (way too early for me to pick her up...her father can do that)!

My daughter and I hope to be on a train between Rome and Florence. Can't book the seats yet, we are hoping that the trains will run. By then we will have had a week in Rome after taking 4 days to get to Rome from Perth. Flying QF from PER to SIN then EK from SIN to FCO. A much cheaper alternative. No night flights and, we hope, no jet lag.

I actually prefer the day flight ex-PER connecting to a night flight ex-SIN, if you time it all right and go to sleep around 3am PER time, if you can sleep through till about 4.30/5am FCO time I find I get very little jetlag even in whY!
