Which airport needs a new "The Lounge" the most?

Not saying there needs to be peace and tranquility. Nor do I think there needs to be copious offerings.

This could possibly be a reality through an arrangement with existing caterers. I keep thinking of PPP where they have have a nice (well sort of) outdoor area and a kiosk which opens only around flight times. DJ (or QF for that matter) could look after their FFers by having a "show your FF card and ticket" arrangement to receive a complementary snack and a drink (or something similar). The caterers wouldn't mind as they're still making the sale (in fact making a sale they might not have made other wise), DJ look after their FFers at small airports (the point of difference spoken of) and the FFers will no doubt appreciate something over nothing (except you will probably then get complaints that the LMPP weren't available or the boutique beer selection wasn't good enough etc)!

Honestly when the numbers are considered (1.5 x 773, 6-7? x 738 [1x 343] ) I think that Syd International would be a good idea for Virgin Australia (and maybe Virgin Atlantic) to consider, sure they have recoprical access to the Koru Lounge, but recoprical lounge access doesnt apply to all flights. Eg. Denpasar. and recoprical lounge access is not as good as having your own. Im sure etihad [2 x 346] & delta [1 x 772] would pay virgin to use it aswell?
Once VX grows their LAX presence to a stage where they can provide connections comparable to that of delta maybe a shared LAX virgin lounge could be on the cards too. but I understand connections with delta are currently an issue.
Domestically i think all the capital cities need to be upgraded then Gladstone, townsville, cairns & launceston.

NTL would be a good place for a Lounge and would also help to direct business away from Deathstar, please DJ ?? ;)

... and I would include MEL International in that logic.

Not suggesting that this is something that would happen, but wouldn't it make sense for VA to take over the NZ lounges at BNE/SYD/MEL?

GLT will have a lounge soon, with three LNG plants being built each supporting 6000 workers in Dungas who FIFO, it's a bit of a no brainer.

My youngest son works at Calliope and is a FIFO from GLT, so on his behalf I vote for GLT

Great suggestions. Let's find an easier and cheaper way for those travellers in high-visibility clothing to get sloshed before a flight.

When Virgin Blue started becoming more popular there we're a number of mixups, so it's always good to look at the URL in the address bar to see which forum you're in. :)
Sometimes there isn't any time to look at URL's. The Qantas Club is so easy where as when looking at "The Lounge" not everyone immediately thinks Virgin.

I can imagine some airline calling themselves "The Airline". Which airline? You know! "The Airline"!

Fly in and Fly out to Calliope from Gladstone? That is got to be one of the shortest flights around! ;)

I hope they avoid setting up codeshares with Our Airline. Then you'd never be sure whether you need to checkin with Our Airline or The Airline. As for which Airline would be on first, I'll leave that to others...

Or even worse if "Our Airline" cancelled your flight and rebooked you on "The Other Airline". Could get extremely confusing.

And where is Abbott and Costello when you really need them....

Does Mackay (of all places) have a The Lounge? I saw it on a list but when I looked at another list it wasn't there.
Not that I travel to Mackay, in fact it's about the largest town in Australia I've never visited.

MKY has both a lounge and a QP, both new in the last three months.

Didn't MKY have a Qantas lounge in the past regardless of size.

After all a lounge is a lounge....

It did, but this is a brand new lounge opened last week....with a pancake machine!
