which ff program?

I'm in the process of looking into a FF program after years of putting it off after the Ansett disaster and losing a pile of miles. At the time there didn't seem to be much of an option.. both United, American and Canadian seemed to be on the verge of 'doing an Ansett' so didn't see much of a reason going with any of them.

I've traditionally gone with star alliance, since I do at least one flight to Scandinavia a year and there flights are better, and overall they appear to have more flights.

From general reading United seems to be a good bet as far as 'value' is concerned.. but noticed someone who mentioned Asiana (who's that?) where there points don't expire and family memebers can combine points.

I have ticket stubs/boarding pasts for a recent trip in July, can I retroactively get points for this?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

xmeister, great to see that you have read the previous topics about which * Alliance carrier's FF programs is best.

From a points earning as well as award perspective, United seems to be the best. However, as you correctlypointed out, United like many others is still in Chapter 11 and one must be nervous about most of the US carriers and their ability ongoing to maintain their FF programs.

I have no knowledge about the Asiana FF program, however I am sure you have investigated it (or will).

As for crediting the flights made in July, you're hoping aren't you :roll: . I doubt they'd give them to you as you weren't a member of the scheme at the time of the flights...but one can only ask. Never ask, never get!
