@Daver6: have they really? Or have they just been more lucky recently? Did you really mean they ā€˜appearā€™ to have cleaned up their act? I canā€™t say one way or tā€™other, but plenty of structural and cultural challenges likely still exist.

Probably a bit of both. I don't really know or sure though. I mean a while back they were banned from EU airspace and that's changed. I guess I just hope some regulators know more than me.

Qantas appears to have reduced frequency on QF45/46 MEL-DPS to 5x weekly (x24) for the foreseeable future.

Which is the best? That would be Jetstar according to some AFFers, based on their posted flying exploits. ;)
Qantas to, Jetstar back. To Adelaide. Five hour daytime flight instead of that horrible short overnight flight from DPS that departs around 11pm.

From Melbourne we used to go with JQ for their afternoon J flight home on 787 and for ease of booking, would do morning flight on the way over.

This time, we have gone with QF via Sydney šŸ«£ only for the lie flat bed homeward bound.

Will reserve judgement on this decision after Sydney international to domestic transfer on Friday.

If Garuda are price competitive next time, would consider.

From Perth, we have the delights of Air Asia, Batik and I think Jetstar. Otherwise it's pay quite a bit more to connect via SIN or KUL and lose a day or so with longer routings....I've been considering MH..other half not so sure!!

MH are fine but out of PER only one of the flights is on the A330, the day flight is on the 737

We also have Citilink which is Garuda's Jetstar yet literally half the price of Jetstar!

For Flyfrequently, ...
SYD T1 to T3 or vv, by the QF internal bus, with an early morning/lunch flight arrival into T1, and a late afternoon/evening QFd is good, (((T1 to T2 by the QF bus not so, if you can sneak on the QF bus with a JQd next flight, havent tried it, but can/will it work))),
QFi/JQi T1 to QF T3 at SYD, is a breeze.
No worries on this one.
3 hrs will be ok.
For T3 to T1, 4 hrs will be ok, less might work, 2 is stretching it very tigh, even on the same PNR.
Have done 1.75 hrs, but not to the US tho, on the same PNR to NZ, ADL - SYD - NZ.

Thanks @AustraliaPoochie , good transfer T3 to T1 last weekend had 3.5 hours, took about 1.5

As long as everything runs to time and e-gates not having a hissy fit, we should be OK with 2 hours, 25 mins šŸ¤ž

We arrive T1 QF J, 6.05 am
Same PNR next flight T3 8.30am QF J
Plan on taking the "seamless" Qantas transfer bus.
Worse case scenario, it is good to know there are 36 Syd- Mel flights on Friday !

Surely the whole vibe of Bali as a destination since the 80's meets the vibe of Jetstar?
Both Bali and Jetstar are totally about the drunken bogans, so Jetstar HAS to be it?

I take it you haven't been to Bali?
Sure there are Bogan elements in some parts but itā€™s a big island and plenty of great places where you can get away from the crowds, see so,e stunning scenery and stay in luxury. Unfortunately itā€™s only the bogan element that many people see

May I ask, commencing when and which days have they dropped @Qantas747 ?
Tuesday and Thursday are dropped. (x24 = every day except day 2 [Tues] and day 4 [Thurs])

Virgin also cutting back DPS flights from OOL - going between daily flights and 4-weekly (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun). Looks like, as of time of posting, July, September and December have daily flights, whereas other months are down to 4 per week. Just yesterday this was 4-weekly all the way to December, so seems to be some schedule changes happening.

And some don't even bother to 'see' them as they've never been but just look at the media headlines.
