For anyone reading this thread in the future I'd just make a general comment that all the phone makers make higher end devices and lower end ones. One needs to evaluate the need vs what will work (if budget and choice are constrained). What I mean is that it was mentioned earlier a potential to obtain a Samsung S series phone with the intent to be used for thr QF app (let alone others). The S series is the flagship (well currently anyway) and most of them have some pretty impressive specs (I have a S20+ myself) and do all kinds of pretty neat things, run multiple apps fast and so on... that's great.
However it would be overkill to have such a device for simple use - most of the features, bigger memory, CPU power, cameras etc would add almost nothing to a basic experience (well it would be faster I guess
) nor 5G etc. This is why I earlier suggested the Samsung A series, which is midrange - still very good specs depending on the model - but would be ideal for every day use of things like current apps, email, web browsing etc.
I guess my point is that one could spend way too much money on a phone for the intended use and that would be a waste potentially. Even me with a S20+ I didn't go for the highest spec model (I think it's called the Pro, or something like that) because sure, had some sweet extras in it, I knew this is not something I personally would find value or use for every day compared to the price so I opted out. Truth be told I could probably do with an A7x series but the back camera specs pulled me over the line). That's just me of course. Everyone is different.
I commented earlier about Apples (and I too am surprised at how back the IOS support goes - pretty impressive actually) and this is certainly a factor in their favour. I live in a Android world obviously, but that is just my long term usage preference - I'm about advocating what's the best fit for each particular user - so ease of use, functrionality, specs, pros and cons can vary depending on the "mission" of the device and the user - for example I would probably recommend an apple to an older person or someone who finds technology a bit of a challenge, for ease of use and general support... but I might suggest a Google Pixel for a more power user, or a Samsung Pro for someone who wants the top phone cameras and the like.
So, consider the potential use and exactly what features might be more useful and worthwhile vs the "shiny" factor of the biggest and best (again specially when budget is an issue, because these bad boys and girls do not come cheap - even the older models or grey imports).
This is really just a general comment not related at all to using the QF app.
