I have an opportunity to fly one way F and one way PE either Sydney to BKK or BKK to Syd, what do members think would be the most enjoyable sector to fly, enjoy the lounge and day flight or night flight and sleep well coming home?

Which airline? I would say F outbound for OW or *A unless flying on Thai, for lounge access.

Fly F from SYD and you might be able to arrange the degustation menu, but it might only be to SIN?

I’d probably enjoy F even at night, and sleep well, rather than sleep so-so in PE, but YMMV.

Have you flown F before? What are you doing when you get there? For me (and I know this is a bit cheeky) - if I was on vacation I would go F up and PE back. The reverse would be true if on business - I can handle being a bit tired and doing a day's work but if on vacation I want to maximise the enjoyment.

I would definitely go F from SYD then. Degustation menu, F lounge, Spa... not that I use the spa.

Agree with the others, definitely F from SYD. The F Lounge in BKK is nothing special.
Don't think you will get the degustation to BKK as its only available to SIN and LAX. The food is still pretty nice anyway and the Taittinger Comtes de Champagne is lovely :)

Its a no brainer really, F on the outbound especially its a day time flight where you get to enjoy the whole F experience. Also start the trip on a positive experience.

For the inbound the last thing you want to do is be having a late dinner at 2am (destination time) in the morning. The bed might be a benefit if you avoid the meal but who cares if you have a tiring flight as you can always go to your own bed and sleep it off ;)
