Which wine cabinet?

I thought I replied to this the other day but the post is missing. The Vintec type cabinets work using a compressor where as the lower spec cabinets have a thermoelectric cooling system, also called Peltier cooling.
Vintec have a bit of information in a customer only section of their website but there should be information about the pros and cons of both on the web.

For the promotion below, it could be worth to go to a local applicance shop and try and haggle them down on floor stock they might want to get rid of, especially today at end of financial year.
Isn't it in post #95?

That's the offer we were waiting for. Looks like we're getting a vintec :)

This offer certainly provides plenty of detail on what wines are included in the promotion and what is required on the receipt etc - shame the Wolf Blass Magnum offer was not treated in the same way

Shame that it limits the Wolf Blass to Grey Label only. I would have just bought some Black Label.

I was looking at the Wolf Blass Estates of the Barossa St John's Shiraz 2012 but alas....

on a positive note - at least it is crystal clear

Looks like my source was correct!

Re the Choice reviews of wine fridges, as they call them (July 2104)

Of 'stand alones' (ie not built in) the top 2 picks are Liebherr models at 60 bottle 94% overall score and 18 bottle 91% ($1,500 and $2,900 respectively; yes, I have those the right way round!).

The Vintec V110SGeS3, 121 bottle capacity came in 4th out of 12 at 78% (Choice's cost per bottle $0.78/yr; bad point was relatively noisy good; points were relatively cheap to run and good response to seasonal change) and the V30SGeS3 came in 5th at 76% (cost per bottle $2.30/yr; bad point was that bottom shelf can get warm; good point was good response to seasonal change, good for T fluctuations.).

I can quote more from this report but as I'm a subscriber, perhaps a PM to me would be more appropriate if someone wants details.

The 30 bottle model offered, offered for $299, quoted full price $680 RRP I can find on line at $449 ("$201 off RRP"). Still a good buy.

The 120 bottle model I can't find anywhere on line. Superseded model? (Not a criticism, just an observation.)

Pretty sure it's cellartracker. Which has the ability for you to label each bottle with a location.

Massive thanks for this tip, I downloaded Cellartracker tonight and have just loaded everything - it's sensational. Have always wanted something to do this for me and this is brilliant.

Of course a problem is where to put these wine cabinets, but I've just found the perfect place.

Unfortunately something has to go ....

Put your HWS on the roof RF - or don't you have enough sun down there :p.

Ha ha ... reminds me when I used to work out of Tennant Creek. We used to turn the inside HWC off, and it was the cold water supply. The town cold water supply was always warm.

I have the SGS3 Vintec from the choice article. It's a couple years old now so may be a superseded model. I like it.

We Havent got anywhere to put a big one, unless we fancy covering the dining room window...
