Who is your favourite author?

Raymond Fiest - have everyone of his novels, epic fantasy
Alan Troop - horror fantasy, quite a gripping series
Trudi Canavan - cause even a kiwi likes some Aussies
Stieg Larsson - taken too early
and my little brother - Dion Bird, who just had his first novel published a couple of months ago

The whole family reads a lot, and we consume anything from sports through to some really weird stuff. My 7 yo son has just finished the Hobbit, and 10yo daughter has just finished all of Trudi Canavon's works. The gift of reading, is one of the best gifts we can give our kids

Jo Nesbo, currently reading "The Snowman".
Dan Simmons, been awhile but am looking for a new one from him.
Stephen Leather, have a couple that I'm looking forward to reading.

I enjoy crime/murder/mystery etc, a couple of favourites are C J Sansom and Barry Maitland.

I also like the works of Alexander McCall Smith (both Botswana and Scotland).

Best book this year was "The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared" by Jonas Jonasson.
