Why are Return Flights to Europe so Expensive Still Folks???

Not sure about satisfying the credit card presentation requirements in HKG though. Other than that connecting at HKG (or SIN or BKK) to the same flight is probably one of the lowest risk connections you can ever do ...
Booking with QF online with BKK as starting point will create its own hassles as the credit card needs to be sighted before the ticket will be issued. Can get around this by booking with travel agent.

As long as you have e-ticket printed for both bookings to carry with you I don't see why there would be any issues. Not sure about satisfying the credit card presentation requirements in HKG though. Yes, noticed a little comment during the dummy booking process re presentation of the CC that the fare was booked with. Anway my leg is sore from too much kicking.

Filed away for possible future use...thx for posting this.

And thanks Johnk for this info...every situation has its own issues

Is it possible to use a mix of LCCs to get a cheap fare to anywhere in Europe? I'm sure that once you're in Europe, it's easy enough to find another LCC that will carry you to your wanted destination. I personally wouldn't mind the inconvenience that some may view it as.

Only LCC that flies to Europe from Asia is AirAsia X. And they fly into STN, London Stansted from KUL LCCT.

OOL-STN return is still quite reasonable for $1500+-. Anyone with info on their Prague flights, please let me know. I've been dying for them to start these flights that were announced over a year ago.

And some of their XL seats to KL are only $100 more expensive rather than twice as expensive. Some promos I found for the end of this year economy vs XL were $339 vs $439.

This appear to have changed for ex HKG.

When looking to book ex HKG on Qantas.com the following appears:
Important Information said:
The Credit Card holder must verify the card used for this online booking at check-in or at the Hong Kong Qantas Office prior to departure. The cardholder does not need to be travelling.

I have a feeling this is a government requirement. Whenever I book via a travel agent in BKK I need to fax/email a copy of my credit card (front/back) and a standard form that I am purchasing airline tickets and the amount.
