Why are there so many AA threads on an Australian FF website?

But how do you earn then?

Through CC purchases?

Mostly through flying. Some from hotel stays. Some from Amex and Diners Club points laundered through SPG, especially when there are bonus promotions from time to time. now up to 1.7M lifetime miles with AA.

how do you check the specific ticket class before its booked? I assume all first class are credited as per first class in terms of SCs? without exceptions? likewise J?

If booking on ww.aa.com (The USA site), if using "price and Schedule" the fare class is available by clicking the littleblue [+] Flight Details line.

If doing multi segement you can check on the next page after selecting.

Cant quite find the blue cross, and i am using the price search function on the us website. But the booking code shown after you have put in personal details says booking code A so i assume thats all good

The only was to search by "Price" alone is to use "multi segment" so the latter instruction is as expected.
