Hey guys,

Looking at booking a MEL-LHR flight for early next year. I'm very flex with dates so have been playing around looking at whats available in J. Using the VA website getting the VA flights from SYD-AUH are easy - heaps of availability - but when I try and add on an LHR service as well it fails to locate any availability on almost any dates.

Whats interesting, is using EF and KVS I can see that EY does have quite a bit of award availability on the AUH-LHR flights on the dates I'm looking. So I presume if I was an EY Guest Member I could book these services, but as a VA member I cannot? Or does calling the Contact Service Centre help?

Not much point in having a partner airline if they won't share their award inventory with you :(

The only way you can book a EY flight or any partner is by calling. Limited codeshare flights on EY are avaible online, however it is limited and "complicated" bookings ( ie like adding a stop) need to be made over the phone..

Right, I didn't realise that - thanks.

I figured that since the VA website states here;

Redeem Points with Airline Partners | Velocity Frequent Flyer

that EY flights can be redeemed online I would have access to all award availability. Oh well, at least with tools like KVS we can check what dates are available prior to calling.

[h=4]Redeem Points now[/h]You can redeem your Points for Virgin Australia domestic and international flights, as well as selected codeshare flights operated by Etihad Airways and Virgin America, online, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Roger. So there are only a few selected codeshares availble online. Got it. That makes me feel a little better. Now if I could just get my head around how much mileage is required for what I'll be set.
