Why have QFF points been awarded for a credit card I don't possess?

 I don't own an HSBC credit card... I quite seriously don't know what to do. Suggestions?! Has anyone else had this happen?

Sometimes there is some kind of reconciliation done. I received a refund this week for something I bought online but never collected - from 12 months ago. Maybe in your history there was some connection.

It's possible, I suppose. I did have a card with them but it was about 5 years ago...

(I'm holding out hope it's a long sighted big spender!)

I've had the same thing, only 150 point, but I haven't had one for years.

Yep, 223 points from same....can't recall ever having the card, even in my halcyon churning era

Not to be Debbie Downer here, but should probably check your credit record to make sure no one has taken a card out in your name.
This happened to me once.
Excellent advice/ It also behoves the OP to contact Qantas and discuss where the points are coming from. They need to know if there is a potential problem and to act to protect your account.

Report accessed and all is in order.

Loath to sit on hold for 3 hours to contact QANTAS (and not confident of their assistance to be honest, not unless I actually get past the Mindpearl agents.) But I probably ought to, you're right.

I dont think the QFF team is operated by Mindpearls, it doesn't handle reservation. In my experience waiting is short, and service is ok, though following up is sometime needed.

Oh that's good information, thanks! I'll get onto them.

Now clarified, part of an email from HSBC.
HSBC has recently identified that a number of our Platinum Qantas Credit Card customers were not receiving all of the Qantas Points that they were entitled to. This was a result of an error in our systems relating to the calculation of Qantas Points on certain transactions which has now been resolved.

Good of them, especially considering they only owed me a whopping 15 points. Hope you got lucky!

50 points for me, for a card I cancelled 7 years ago when I moved to London!

Nice of them to own the mistake and make it right, though would be nicer if they'd thrown in some extra points as interest!
