Why is it that VA discourage OLCI, even on Flexi and Business fares?

(I've sat in a middle seat on a VA flight before in row 20 on a 737, filled up. We all do it sometimes. )

Only reason I OLCI rather than at the lounge is because i'm still PS, so if I OLCI 48 hours before I can usually get a seat in row 5 or 6 window.

When I was PS, I bought the lounge membership (with the PS disc, it was worth it for me) and I find that the angels can often work miracles! (not always and unfortunately the miracles are getting further apart)

Yeah I got it after hitting PS too as at the discount it is beyond worth it, and those angels can do anything! Meanwhile, off-topic, did you hit gold before your lounge expired? And if so, what happened with your membership? I got lounge 01/04/13 and will hit gold 14/12/13.

Yes I did and the membership was promptly refunded on a pro-rata basis.
