Why is QF J SYD-HNL so expensive?

I reckon a fair few of the J travellers on this route would be classic awards, or points upgrades. I think that people who pay fullfare for this route would be a little (actually - very) disappointed when they step on board to see what their $6000+ ticket has bought them.

Having talked to a QF Flighty who works on J&F on A380's, he said that the Hawaii and Noumea routes were extremely undesirable, and are almost looked on as a 'demotion' for FA's.

Especially when they get told at meal times "sorry, I know this is J but there is no meal choice left because at HNL they only let us load exactly as many meals as passengers so you can either have this meal or nothing".

I concur. Had a WP mate who booked QF expecting a Skybed on points, and he cancelled the return and paid for JQ, instead.

Keeping in mind those awards and upgrades are limited....

I still reckon they sell quite a few J seats
