Does anyone know how much wi-fi is on the flight from Sydney to LAX with American Airlines (AA72)? Flying in economy. AA just said from $10 but couldnt tell me what that from was for. Not for use on streaming just want to get some work done on the flight as its a daytime flight. Thanks

Just flew AA72 a week ago - Wifi an absolute rip off at $US35 for the flight - and it does not work for large areas of the trans-pacific crossing! And I was in First!

Meanwhile you'll have to wait a few more years for Qantas International.

The first of three satellites for their systemv(ViaSat3) is scheduled to launch next week.

The critical one (coverage over Asia) isn't scheduled to launch until 2024 on an Ariane 6 rocket (that is yet to have its first flight)

I actually think that price is reasonable considering the distance - but would it expect to work most of the flight.

I believe they use Panasonic and that should have continuous coverage on that route as long as you're not tracking more easterly than normal. I've heard from others they were happy with the wifi service on AA on this route.

Agree, I would happily pay $35 if it would work for 80% of the flight. The Singapore Airlines flight from NY to Singapore worked around 80% of the flight.
