A week out from a trip I booked for my wife to Europe where she is flying Qatar and booked via velocity points...I've just noticed somehow she is booked as 'Mr' instead of 'Mrs' - all other pieces are correct (her first and last name etc).

Haven't called Velocity yet, but having a mini heart attack here as to what it may mean for the booking...welcome any comments or guidance if anyone has past experience.

Without having come across that issue before, I doubt it will be a problem. I don't think titles are part of the booking - sometimes I put Dr into the booking to see if it improves the experience (may do!). < I am Dr RooFlyer ...>

I accidentally booked my sister as Mr, booking with Qatar through Virgin Australia. I called them up and they said it shouldn't matter.

I call her Mister Sister now, though, so I got something out of it

But what happens if you're on a plane and there's a medical emergency?
The flight attendant goes "It's OK, Dr Roo Flyer is In Row 1" 🤣

I'd be surprised if it did. Not 100% reliable? Airlines also specifically require gender to be input separately.

One of the QF or VFF award booking sites does (experienced it last week but can't remember which)

I'm Dr and I always get the challenge "Can't check in, must select gender". I selected Female on one occasion bc I was walking and phoning like an idiot. I was prepared to use my PhD (semantics, very useful), but wasn't questioned on boarding. Maybe it's the walk?

Was this in the ME? ;)
