Remember that travel such as MEL-xBNE-CNS on the one (e.g. one-way) booking is considered one "Flight Journey".

Sounds like you'll be another test case :)
Could be, of course SWMBO has no eligible 'sectors'. For me the main difference if downgraded to basic would be no bonus velocity earn.

I'll still get lounge access, priority seating and extra baggage when on most DJ flights.

Hi Serfty, If that's directed toward my tally issue, all my flights are single sector, no connections.

Fair enough; I guess for you it's moot in any case.

It will be interesting to see what happens with SWMBO, whether PS or nufin!

I'm expecting when my tallies are reset following my year rollover, that it will tally correctly, but the previous 12 months did not.

Although, if its the tally for upgrading to platinum, it isn't going to reset as such, as it's a rolling twelve month tally.

Which brings up another point........will the "eligible" sectors for upgrade also be on a rolling basis? I guess one would assume so.

I'm now at home and able to access my VFF account but I can't do a screen shot anyway as my year rolled on 10 August. I've lost all reference to platinum upgrade and maintain gold still refers to prior to 10 August. 5 days now........how long can it take to say.."got at least 400 SCs"? Yep tick, .."got at least 4 sectors" Yep tick.

All I'm getting is:
We are currently assessing your activity over your membership year. You will still have access to your current benefits until 10 Sep 2012. Your new card will be with you shortly.

Maybe they're also assessing how much whinging on AFF I've been doing lately ;)

If they're assessing activity for members, I think based on whinging that could almost wipe out their entire FF customer base ;)

I can't follow this FF plan readily .. why they do not make it calendar year beats me.

So this looks like we are good to Sept 2013 as plats?

And any flights AFTER Sept 30 count to next period Requal?

In your case then yes and yes ...

I too would be interested in hearing about these outcomes.

Glad I do not have the minimum sector issue. I did not re-qualify Gold let alone Platinum but I think I have ~10 sectors on VA.

Interesting post on another thread:
Nah I deserved it... only scraped PS level
DJ has a soft landing, what gives?

7.12 If the total number of Status Credits earned at your Review Date does not meet the criteria in clause 7.14 to maintain the same Membership Level, then, your Membership Level will be downgraded to the Membership Level below your current Membership Level.
oh... well i don't think it applies to me because I was WP only because of a status match and I didn't really hold up my end of the bargain... it's ok. ...

My date is up and I am still Gold. I have yet to be reviewed but I will keep you all posted.

Re: wow I got comped WP

There is NO reference in the Velocity T&C's of minimum sectors in respect of not re-qualifying a status.

The T&C's are a bit quiet on the issue. Anyway, after reading more, I think there should only be a one level drop, based on this text at the bottom of https://www.velocityrewards.com.au/content/Status/HowItWorks/index.htm

If on your Review Date you have not earned the required number of Status Credits or travelled the Eligible Sectors in your previous 12 month benefit period to maintain your level of membership, you will move down to the next level of membership.

I think there may be something wrong here. I was comped Virgin Platinum and only have 140SCs for the year and according to their terms and conditions I will be Gold for the next 12 months.

Anything less and they will be hearing from my lawyer....

Hahahha I'm kinda hoping that Virgin stuff you over as well John K just so I can watch the show!!! ;)

Well it's a bit moot for me as to the eligible sectors, as I my account is showing ~100 SC and 4 VA segments.

I am currently being "assessed".

Rather unprofessional to keep folks hanging.

It is either a soft landing or back to zero - one or the other.

You'd think they have given this some thought months back, so everyone knew what the deal was.

Personally I think soft landing, unless flyer got very close is pretty pointless.

Everyone had a free year taste of the few goodies (such as they are!) .. if they did not enjoy the Virgin Ice Cream, well back to red card status.

I am not sure I agree with all of your sentiment - if you are going to have a soft landing for anyone you should have a soft landing for everyone.
