Will be interesting to see if this brings changes or more of the same to BA. He’s been pretty heavily criticised for turning BA into a Ryanair clone.....

I wouldn't expect any improvements at all, as Walsh's replacement is Luis Gallego, head of Iberia, which is not known for providing stellar service. We will now have Spaniards in charge of both IAG and BA, and let's not forget how bad Vueling is.

What was that about about the organization ability of the Spanish, the customer service of the French, the work ethic of the Italians, with the cooking done by the British and flexibility of the Germans?

Board controls the strategy.. it won't change..

And why would it. BA has no competition from above, it's all from below.
On some short-haul flights you've got 15 rows of Euro-Business, on others 1 - it's a cough product but it gives them simple flexibility that a fixed premium cabin can't provide.

I'm actually surprised BA hasn't tried again with a UK LCC given what they have done in Europe.

(History note - they were actually one of the first to start one - Go in the late 90s, but it was canned when Eddington came on board who quickly sold it to a PE firm, who flipped it only a few months later to easyJet - woops.)

They've finally moved with the times with the new Club World Suite on the 35Xs and retrofit to the 772s.

Strategy is one thing, but service delivery and local tactics are another, and these are driven by management. No amount of good strategy can compensate for poor service delivery.

We shall see, but I'm not hopeful (I'm BAEC Gold).

Some big names dropping out.... Tim Clark is another over at Emirates.

From what I've seen Willie was one tight b&star&d - BA is the pits!

Perhaps they can find a CEO who understands the important of cleaning the planes!
