So the Halliday Wine Companion web site has just been "upgraded" but nothing seems to work - does anyone else have the same experience?

I changed my password, as required, and now it seems to have forgotten that I'm a member. Trying to login just takes me to the "become a member" screen, and when I use that it says "The user already exists". Without being logged in, the website doesn't seem to have any search functionality, so I can't search wine ratings and reviews, narrowing down by region, vintage, variety and score (which was my favourite way of working out secret wine deals!). I've sent them a message but thought others here might have found a way through this.

I must say I found it hard going too Roshea, I couldn't log in successfully after 4-5 attempts using the suggested sequence but ended up googling the issue. I'm a Mac user and for me going into Preferences in Safari and clearing cookies and cache for that particular site worked a treat (don't hit 'clear all' as you'll lose your settings for all sites) and it freed things up allowing me to reset password etc etc. Hope it helps....

Had the same issue - try clearing your cookies. That fixed the logon issue for me.

Now to get the search feature working...

Yes; it's frustrating but it does work. As above clear cookies and cache. The Faq is helpful. Cheers Rug

Thanks for the help all, just had to search "Clear Cookies for one Website in Google Chrome" and go from there.

As already discussed, "clear cookies".
I don't find the new site very functional. The sliding scales make it difficult to isolate the search. Maybe more practice needed.

I actually think it is the classic case of "if it's not broke...." the new site doesn't seem to offer any greater functionality than the old and overall, I don't like the feel of it, just my two bob's worth:)

I find it frustrating when you click on an entry on Google and it does not take you to the article but to the base page and you need to search especially older vintages. It's like when AFF changed their site hopefully we will get accustomed to wine companions new site. Cheers Rug

Did you all need to reset your password to login? I can’t login with my password.

Hi Afro yes you need to reset password. For it all to work read the faq and follow it. You will also need to remove winecompanion cookies and clear cache then start. As I said read the faq first. Cheers Rug

WineCompanion have made it a prerequisite to access the new site unfortunately, if you don't follow the instructions above then you cannot get into it I'm afraid....

Sounds like the Government. A forklift licence was originally supposed to be for life but now is every five years you pay to renew. Glad you got your wine companion to work. Cheers Rug

That involves health and safety concerns , i'm not sure how many more warehouses are still using gas container forklift than electric, also the heavy lifting and cpr training every 3 years to get the workcover green card.

Too true. Enjoy your weekend. Cheers Rug
