Well it's not like he's doing that badly, given his last few pay packets over the years. Plenty of soft $$ in his personal assets and accounts to land on, I'm sure. Although I salute him for taking a cut out for the rest of the year.

Actually, if QF survive, they'll say he'll finish on a higher high as the one who pulled them through such a crisis.

IIRC a rather mixed record, financially speaking. Can't blame him for current health-related extremely serious issue, but if the airline had grown 'fat', then that's another negative.

With a financially constrained competitor, he's arguably had an easier ride through the last couple of years than have some CEOs in other sectors like non-food retail.

I'm sure there are leaders who would prefer to do the very least amount of work, and those who relish the opportunity to do the most. This is a very trying time for a lot of people, and considering how long he has led* them, I'd say he's probably the best person to be at the front. On the other hand, must be really frustrating for Paul Scurrah – he knew there'd be some issues, but what he's facing now is probably well beyond anything he thought could have possibly happened.

The fine detail re whether there'll be further QFi 'relief flights' (for passengers) on or after 1 April 2020 doesn't seem to be public yet.

Does this depend on 'who (and how many) scream(s) the loudest' in terms of being 'marooned?'

I'm assuming many (temporarily 'last') international flights operate on 30 March ex Oz and either 30 or 31 March ex the other end.

For the couple of foreign carriers I've checked, one had some detail on its site.

AJ has already stated he is going without pay, a couple of weeks ago I believe.
