What’s the best way to use these Apple gift cards to maximized benefits / discount while buying MacBook ? Go through qantas estore ?
That's what I did last year (so that it tracks your order when placing it through the Apple website). If you can wait for a bonus points offer through the Mall then that's even better.

Have a close read of the T&C's on the Qantas Online Mall site specific to Apple. There are product exclusions listed where points are not earned on purchases. You may end up buying something that does not earn points through the Mall.

Education store if you're eligible, and Cashrewards etc sometimes have upsized cashbacks or promotions where things are not excluded like usual

10x Everyday Rewards points on Eftpos gift cards incl. $20-500 variable load card. Starts Wednesday 26 April. Credit to Babyboss on OzBargain for the image.

Interestingly, it looks like they may have done away with the silly one transaction per day rule.

Given their stores often couldn't deliver the maximum number of daily cards, it was basically a gift to those out in the boonies vs those in metro areas picking up scraps. I'm sure it was intended to stop "abuse" but those with multiple accounts just cleaned up instead

I've still got half a dozen partially-used $500 ones in my wallet after they restricted the redemption options

These are the EFTPOS cards, were they restricted somehow? I use them for Coles/WW in store shopping and have never had an issue personally. I intend to buy a heap.

The cards I've been left with due to restrictions being added were the visa onlyone cards, but to be fair I wasn't really using them per their intended use (the home improvement ones were able to be used on eBay for a while until ozbargain overdid it).

So $500 = 2500 QFF for $8 or .3c/p, not bad, just need a way to use the cards as I understand inception not possible. Please DM if I am wrong

The Visa OnlyOne cards from a few weeks ago didn't have restrictions though - were the ones you refer to specifically coded to home improvement?

So, to answer my own question with a bit of research, the Home improvement part of the onlyone website says:

The OnlyONE Home Improvement DIY & Tradie Gift Card can only be used at the following Visa Merchant Groups: Roofing, Siding, and Sheet Metal Work Contractors (1761), Hardware, Equipment and Supplies (5072) Paint, Varnishes and Supplies (5198), Home Supply Warehouse Stores (5200), Lumber and Building Materials Stores (5211), Glass, Paint, and Wallpaper Stores (5231), Hardware Stores (5251), Floor Covering Stores (5713), Commercial Footwear (5139)

But the Perfect Gift Cards coming up this week look like they can be used anywhere EFTPOS is accepted - like the generic VISA onlyone cards from a few weeks ago

At 3.2% discount, this only makes sense for petrol cards if you can already source discounted cards through the car clubs.

There will also be the usual chase up required to actually get the points!

I've bought the $250 wish card last 2 times it was offered, the 1600 points were manually credited without me calling. I just left it & eventually they were credited. No chase up.

Poor return I agree, but points for nothing how I see it. linked to everyday pay & too easy.

I see it as you've paid for the exclusive opportunity of not being able to use that same money for better value elsewhere.
haha, as in buying giftcards elsewhere for 5% discount? or 10%?

fair enough, I'm not overly concerned about gaining the very best deal/value out there as long as I'm getting something close to it.

like your sarcasm thou, cheers.
