Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

I have a team of about 40 where I work and I think about half actively collect QFF points with a long term view. Its certainly a topic of discussion around the "water cooler' quite often. Only a couple as far as I am aware have actually ever tried to redeem points with the rest saving for that big trip in the far distant future. (and no doubt some will be hugely disappointed but that's another issue) Taking all this one step further, the few of us that have redeemed points have not done so in the last 12 months so in this office at least according to WOW 100% are either fatigued or disinterested with the scheme which is certainly not the case
I hope you'll all be telling this to the idiots at Woolworths headoffice.

To me another failure by WOW was not bringing Tasmania into the new scheme.Definitely no point me shopping at WOW when I am working there.

It's Ironic that over a decade ago, Woolworths made the courageous decision to change their trading name from Purity & Roelf Vos to a single trading name of Woolworths in Tasmania, yet the company didn't have the courage ( and still don't appear to have the courage) to change the name of their loyalty card in the state of Tasmania.
Are Tasmanians really in love with the Frequent shoppers card I ask?

Yet Woolies are prepared to really stir the pot with ditching QFF..... Who is running their marketing Department?

It's worth mentioning that (although nobody here would do it) QFF points can be converted to Woolies gift cards too. And the rate at which Qantas points are converted to gift cards is actually better than Flybuys (1500 points for $10, rather than 2000 points for $10).

I've done it. I wanted a DSLR kit one week before my last overseas trip (on points) and a physical Westfield card wouldn't have arrived in time to use at Ted's. I bought the equivalent in Wish 'cards', printed them on the spot and gave them to Mrs Plinge for use with the weekly shop. Mind you, she wasn't exactly chuffed at having to shop at Woolworths.

A lot of people on Ozbargain bagging the new rewards program.

Also SBS does its take on the revamped program.

Supermarket chain Woolworths has announced a new loyalty card program with an embedded tracking system that reports customers who visit rival chain Coles. An elite, armed unit of Woolworths-branded mercenaries will then visit the customer's home to 'take them into the loading dock' and activate a hidden provision in the reward scheme contract that entitles Woolworths to take ownership of the person's assets and place their family into a period of indentured servitude.

If you have a look at the upcoming WW Catalogue the items they have listed as earning WW dollars are very uninspiring. Even though they would be a small sample, they would want to have a lot more enticing offers than those in store for me to continue shopping at WW.

Does Woolies still give its employees a 5% discount.?

I worked for Marks & Spencer in the UK a few years ago, the staff discount card which was 20% .... I Loved that!

Just about anyone can get 5% off, where's the big deal in that!

YMMV while wandering the bakery section

WOW trying to make a Simplier and Fairer Shopping Experience by individually assigning a reward value to each item?

I am actually laughing out loud at how ridiculous this 'rewards' system is haha

It's "discounts with a card" as opposed to discounts

If they were trying to make it simpler they could just do away with the card...

Supermarkets in Hong Kong have the same deal where you scan the card and get member only discounts and earn different award points on various items.
I use it for high value purchases but for every day spend I see no value given it would need to take up 1 of the 6 card spots in my wallet.

WOW is now a discount card that is hardly worth carrying around. It's not a loyalty program.

....

Buy four loaves of Tip Top bread and get it basically for free??

This isn't a great list because it doesn't contain enough items which are "anyway" for most people. This means in order to benefit, most will have to actually select those items in question, shifting their shopping behaviour.

At least the previous system rewarded people for shopping which they did anyway, on all items.

Unless WW drastically cuts the cost of many other "anyway" items so they are much lower than when they still had EDR, it looks like a failing grade here.

On another note, during the honeymoon period before the end of the year, does this mean one can earn QFF points and WW$ at the same time?

The punters are waking up to the real value of woolies dollars ... recent post to the EDR Facebook page and commentary

Why is it $5.80 when its been under $3 at Woolworths and Coles for weeks. Thats no reward?
because the extra $2.80 you pay is what you then earn back as a reward for being ripped off. ROFLMAO
...and more

Cheers skip

Points are a nice to have but don't dictate where food is bought in our place. We are lucky to have that choice

Anyone else think that Woolworths has a death wish?
