When you consider that you can only earn this benefit twice - ever - and it has a 120 day expiry once earned, I think it's small fry.
Yeah, pretty small.

Actually & contrary to initial reports, their validity is 12 months.

I checked the 1st March T&C's.

You're aiming for 60 nights this year?

Hyatt provided wrong information? Knock me over with a feather!
Well, aiming for 20 nights end of April, maybe 30 end June ... see what happens from there (SWMBO really rates the Hyatts we have stayed at since I took the match in 2015).

I can see what Hyatt are doing here. We've got a booking for early 2018 that will get me to Explorist - not bad for a 5 night stay! The old regime would've given me bugger all...

Ahhh ... so the five nights is going to cost at least US$10,000.00 ... o_O

Symptom of family travelling. It's nice that a few bookings a year will now receive proper status recognition ... see post 13

I didn't get there in the end. Some major quality/service issues at the property resulted in a credit > 50% of the booking.... not sure I'll bother with Hyatt in the future.

With > USD5K off the booking I wouldn't be concerned.

Now I'm stuck in no man's land ... I can manufacture the expenditure to hit the target, but I've been left cold after the NYPH experience.

WoH 'Globalist' does provide some of the better hotel chain elite benefits, but the 60 night or USD20000 spend to attain can be quite an effort for many.

Come March 1st, pre 2017 25 night Diamonds(Globalists) will be no more and with what I suspect to be a huge drop off in numbers the level may be a greater value.

Certainly, for the last two years I have generally been treated far better as a top level Hyatt member than I was as a top level with Hilton.

I think Hyatt's atrocious promotion in the latter quarter of last year that gave top tier to its credit card holders for just a third of the normal number of nights will have the highest rank reasonably full for at least another year. That said, the bloggers all seem to think the changes to award night earnings and even backdating that to 2017 has resulted from Hyatt seeing a notable drop in membership.

Certainly, for the last two years I have generally been treated far better as a top level Hyatt member than I was as a top level with Hilton.

The better part of a decade for me and I completely agree.

Pity I didn’t plan this better;) 761 points left after blowing the rest on a booking at the PH Paris-Vendõme - seems like a nice way to say cheerio to the World of Hyatt :)

I will just squeak in with exactly 60 nights this year (including a creative mattress run with one of my expiring free night certs at the Essendon Hyatt on the way to the airport).

Tbh, I like Hyatt. I find they get the basics right and their aspirational properties overseas are a great use of the points I rack up on work trips to MEL and CBR. Great stays in Buenos Aires, New York and Milan have particularly kept me coming back as well as the Melbourne Grand club lounge.

Their city coverage is pretty terrible (not a single property in Rome...wtf) but they work reasonably well for me in Aus.

Was Diamond for a few years, dropped to Explorist this year and now back to Globalist so will be interesting to see the consistency of the benefits. I don't really mind the suite upgrades for work trips as I spend very little time in the room but really value the ability to get the guaranteed upgrade when my wife travels with me.

25 years is a very decent innings. Moved to another program or just chucked the loyalty thing in?
was going to qualify im sitting at 810000 lifetime so for the few Hyatts I will use at least it will add slowly.
been IC RA for 4 yrs and found them better though will drop this year as i have been doing a lot of cruises in last 3 yrs and in Europe where there are very few Hyatts> and I got bored with status chasing, though I have been working toward QFF Plat which I will achieve in feb and keep it for another year. a bit by mistake, this is all on my own $ so running out of $ quickly
