My friend works at Dan Murphy's (QLD) - he said their biggest seller by far is Corona (10 pallets) and second is xx_X Gold (2 pallets). I guess VB would be more popular down south.

Not this far down south. Its Coopers Pale Ale here.

Go only a little north of Adelaide and I think you'll find Gold and 3.5 would dominate sales.

I'm South Australian born and bred but can't stomach Coopers... You shouldn't have to chew beer!

That would be the peanuts.

Being the most popular beer isn't usually a good recommendation though is it?

Of the beers on that list Tsingtao is pretty good - the brewery was built by the Germans wasn't it? I'm not familiar with the other Chinese beers although I note Yanjing, the number 6 beer, claims to be number 1 in China.

American mass-produced beers? What else needs to be said? Love the Coors Light "cold activated bottle" though.

Brazil still drinks beer out of cans?

Heineken is okay but it's probably the Dutch VB.

Samuel Adams is one American beer I enjoyed.

Budweiser has to be one of the worst beers I have ever tasted. Never tasted Bud light but John Oliver seems to hate it.

Have you tried Cruzcampo from (or in) Spain? It is undrinkable!

I have had 4 possibly 5 beers on that list.

Personally I find Australian beers the best in the world but they will never be the best sellers.

Personally, until recently I have found most Australian beers amongst the worst in the world but I guess that's a matter of taste (or lack of).

Agree. I found most popular local beers weak and tasteless. Lucky it's not hard to find plenty of good European beer in Australia.
Having said that, some local boutique beers are very good.

Issue with European beer in Australia is that a lot of it is brewed under license in Australia. Not quite as good as the proper stuff (and this was the same for Corona when it was brewed here as well).

Which European beers? Czech beers? Load of baloney.

So what would the best selling beer in Australia be?

My guess xx_X Gold. VB would still be pretty big. Tooheys Dry (or whatever it is) seems big.

Corona would be one of the biggest imported beers I would think.
