I feel ashamed seeing that photo. Not because I know that person but just reflects badly to the other Asians.

There's no need to carry that burden. They are simply passenger who either has no awareness of their environment or doesn't give a damn. Nothing more. :)

Earlier today on AA flight JFK - ORD. This was 3F's position from as soon as he was seated.
I know there are fors and against on this forum but really don't think it is a good look and personally don't understand how people feel comfortable doing this in public and question whether or not that there is perhaps a lack of respect, for other people's property and for other people's feelings. Then again, maybe I'm dreaming :(

Except I didn't think the person was Asian - more South American?

No - it doesn't reflect at all on any other people of the same race or ethnicity. These aren't things determined by race. Everyone does it.

No respect, no manners, maximum arrogance.

Eh? I hope not. The few and far between grubs do it. The vast majority of travellers do NOT do it in my experience.

People from all races and ethnic backgrounds do it. This was in response to mmchow's post who said they feel embarrassed because it refelcts on Asians. It doesn't.

Id say it's marginal. Depends on the type of passenger. If you feel comfortable doing it, go right ahead.

I think its fine but if its frowned upon by everyone else ill stop, I'd never do it barefoot if thats something but i'm not sure

Is resting a shoe here considered bad? I have done it before but I will stop if I shouldn't be

It's absolutely fine! Feet rest on the floor. Anything your feet touch while resting on the floor is perfectly ok. Those surfaces can be easily wiped down.

Some will argue that once you lift your feet off the floor to rest them on the bulkhead that crosses some line... but that ignores that it's ok to rest your feet on seats if you're lucky enough to score a row to yourself... or that your feet will touch the wall in front in almost all full flat beds in business and first class (unless you're really short!)

oh wow now thats just something else, I would hope the sky club staff step in and throw them out

Nope, and then he took a call on speaker phone, until his wife told him to stop but that could be because I turned looked at him.

Nope, and then he took a call on speaker phone,

I can never understand the fetish some people have about walking around everywhere conversing on speaker phone! Are they just so self centred that they fail to realise that nobody else is even remotely interested in their current saga, or do they feel they are so important that everyone must be absolutely and utterly intrigued in their every waking moment, or are they simply deaf?

How bizarre, how bizarre!

I completely agree.

Like the guy in the Qantas lounge in Singapore, eating his meal at the table, skyping with his laptop at the same time, headphones on, but his part of the conversation was very loud! I must be getting old, but good manners to me, seem to be going out the door.

People constantly talking about money and what things cost and how much they have spent, or going to spend is another bugbear, do they really think anyone else gives a toss? :)

Money is tight for many people. With social media comparing prices and discussing deals is more prevalent than ever. I guess that flows through to general conversation.

What I dislike about today's nanny state is the ridiculous number of signs everywhere telling you what to do. While I don't like the signs I hate the fact that signs seem to be needed to tell people what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. Can you imagine the lounges if they went mad with signs telling you what you should be doing? DYKWIAs don't believe the rules apply to them anyway so good luck with that.
