Worse than feet on bulkheads

This is a SQ 380, these seats have a foot well and flat bed but she's using the drinks tray for her feet.

Personally, I wonder about the bloke behind. If I'd shelled out for J for a four hour flight, I would not have been happy and unfortunately would probably have said something. What is the protocol for seats? I've had to ask people to move their seats in Y, when I couldn't get my tray down, and they've always grudgingly obliged but what happens if you ask a FA, in a circumstance such as shown above?
That would depend on the airline or possibly even crew.

A number of years ago I was on a CX flight in business in the old recline seats during dinner service the person in front reclined and went to sleep. His bald head was only inches away from my tray and the FA didn't want to wake him.

I can't help thinking we have some podophobiacs on this thread. I can understand how some people's behaviour is pretty anti social but what is so wrong with feet? If you start with the premise that a person's personal habits aren't what they possibly should be, I reckon I'd rather shake their foot than their hand!
I look at the images of someone with their feet on a bulkhead and I see someone with a really sore back who's been standing on way too much concrete and it's just bliss to take the shoes off and stretch the legs out. I can see the potential damage to the magazine rack but I can't see the grossness in a pair of feet?

I'm a sufferer of sore backs and standing, and take your point, however many of these people are seen attending the loo in their socks or the scuffs in their amenities pack.

Is the phobia imagining your own bare feet in the loo or contemplating other people with bare feet in the loo?

I just can't get that sticky feeling out of my mind..... FWIW I also wear shoes. Reminds me of too many nights spent at Minskys (Cremorne) ;)

Ok. Enough information! I'm starting to feel like I'm coming down with a phobia...

So I'm going to be controversial here. I think Qantas is expecting people to put their feet up on the bulkhead/magazine rack. I just flew on QF9, row 20 (front row of Y+). Built into the magazine rack is a little foot rest thing that can be flicked up at various angles. There is no way anyone taller than about 5'5" could use this without their feet landing up on the rack/bulkhead.
