Friend just asked me at the airport earlier today whether I was going to start ‘raw dogging’ my flights. Would you or do you do this in your travels?

I'd love to see these YT/TTs film themselves raw-dogging for a flight..It would be a very boring video.

(And for those confused raw dogging a flight, is very different to raw dogging in flight whilst joining the mile high club... Basically means doing nothing - no IFE, no food, no drinks)

There you go. I’ve just learnt a term I will never use in my life. This forum keeps on giving.
Every time I hear it in this context I cringe a bit 🥲

I have seen someone sit and stare straight ahead for the entirety of a Sydney to Singapore once, just before COVID. Ahead of the trend I guess!

I suppose the tiny grain of truth to be found in this ridiculous trend is that it is possible to enjoy a flight without binging on IFE and stuffing oneself with food and alcohol.

I prefer listening to music and looking out the window as my entertainment when flying, and I will very rarely have a full 3-4 course meal when it’s on offer.

Avoiding the toilet, however, is definitely something for those with younger bladders than mine!!

Why would you? It's doable on a short and mid-haul but good luck doing that on SIN-LHR or JFK-AKL. It'd mess up your body pretty nicely and take time to recover from. Besides, there are much nicer ways to fly, such as sleeping (or movies, audiobooks, anything).

Personally, I prefer spending the time so that I am as functional at the other end as possible. Often it means eating and dozing off at 42,000 ft.

No thanks, it would be a long 14+ hours without any creature comforts in Y. The no sleep I've done but I need ife to make it bearable.

Find it curious that everything we do now needs a name.
I guess when people feel the need to dare each other to do something stupid, that something stupid needs a name/label/reference so they know what each other is talking about?

Ive done this with no issue. Its rare to just switch off and out so yes, Ive sat on flights and done nothing but sit there with my eyes closed but Im awake. Its a nice opportunity to not be spoken to, not have to focus on anything. Ive said no thank you to all meals on long haul as well, just wasnt hungry.
