Would you 'raw dog' a flight?

I don't know about no food or drink, but I can definitely switch my brain off and just watch the flight map/look outside the window for longer flights (i.e. flights to South East Asia) and not touch the IFE or listen to any music and be completely unbothered.

All the travel writers I know had a good moan about having to write something on this topic for the clicks.

However, I enjoyed the ABC article on the topic. It went straight to the point:

“According to online culture expert Josh Stuart, the trend was a subset of modern masculinity performed on social media. "This is the ice bath of the sky," Mr Stuart said.”

“He said the raw dogging movement was led by a centre-right demographic online, with young white men chasing a traditional hardened version of masculinity.”

Oh PUHLEEZE 🤦‍♀️

I often don’t use in-flight entertainment when I’m travelling, but I do like looking out the window and looking at the flight map and reading a little. Rarely have I gone without food and drink though.

Unlikely to opt into the intercontinental prison experience anytime soon. I am impressed to a degree that others can be alone with their thoughts for hours on end.... Mine would quickly go to recalling all of my most awkward moments or things I've been intentionally avoiding remembering for the purpose of not then having to complete things that I'd rather pretend I had forgotten about.

It used to be called relaxing...no phones or devices to annoy you.

If there was nobody interested in chatting you didnt have much other choice on LCC a few years ago.

Also most of the world would class a 4 hour flight as long, or international.

I can do either raw dog or cooked cat....

^ I see dogs & cats eating stuff which makes me think I’d VERY much want it cooked, thankyou very much …

Interesting point on the 4hr flights by people OS though. Americans get distances, but notsomuch Europeans … we spent a week in Turin when I was in Ghent, that was like driving from Sydney to spend a week in Melbourne, and all my Ghent workmates thought I was nutso bananas going “all that way” for only a week. :)

Read the article. They’re not referring to passengers who passively sit there looking out the window, they’re talking about people who perform for social media.
