Indeed that is a good deal.

Most airlines are offering early bird Europe fares at the moment for travel next year. QR, EY etc. have similar prices. Nice to see some healthy competition :)

Do they ever do early bird deals on one way flights? I made an awards redemption to LHR for next year but didn't organise a return flight back yet. I wouldn't mind saving some points for a different occasion if I can get a cheap one way flight back.
 
Ah the airline industry. SYD-BKK/CNX economy return for next March/April is upwards of $1100 and not sure that earns anything in KrisFlyer or Velocity.
