WP changing seat selection on BA

Hi

Just resurrect this old thread again

The earlier posts all mentioned Club Europe (Business) seat selection, but will there be any seat selection made available for EURO TRAVELLERS (i.e. Y) for WP (OWE) at the time of booking ?

Short trip (LHR FCO)

Or only the scrum at T-24 like everyone else given that (1) OWE is supposed to have preferred seating where available and (2) BA Gold (WP equivalent) has the option to choose seats at time of booking.

If available, how do I get to exercise that option: log on to BA, enter my QFF details ???

Thank you in advance

Yes. Seat selection available immediately. Book flight, ensure your FF number is in the booking and use the Manage My Booking portal on the BA site.

Note that the curtain between business and economy can move. If it does you may lose your seating and be reallocated in a poorer seat. Keep an eye on your booking.

Mal,

How do you change the FF program / number ?

In BA MMB, I could only see it but cannot change it.

There is no option box I could see where I can change from one to another.

Advice from gurus please

Thanks

What is under that screenshot on the page (I believe that is in the 'Add Frequent Flyer number' page? If you have entered your QF number previously, it should be listed under that screenshot.

Assuming your QFF number is there, on the previous screen (the MMB page), there should be an option under Service Requests, for 'Choose Seat' and it should allow you to choose your seat.

That's the "little" problem.

I decided to spend 10 quids for an exit row (9C) seat and then entered my AA number (as I have excess SCs for this membership year).

I don't "need" to enter my QFF number but it's always nice to know how to change it, just in case

Cheers

PS: carrying my WP card for the Galleries First in T5, is that the right one (travelling in Y / Euro Traveller) ?

I believe exit rows are free for selection by OWEs. You probably should have entered your QF number and then done your seat selection. At the airport get it changed to the AA number.

Lesson learned !

I doubt if BA will cough up the 10 quid I gave them to help the recession over there.

When I was navigating the site before making the purchase, that was not clear to me (that OWE has that option).

Well, next time !

EDIT: I called up the 1300 Australian number to get my WP number updated. "Sorry, the exit-row fee is not refundable" but she did confirm that as an OWE, I was entitled to a free exit row seat.

Hope that info helps another AFFer (or two), but you may have to call up after your booking to request it.

IME BA are allergic to OW nomenclature. They only use their invented jargon...Club Word...Euro Traveller...I hate BA!! But more seriously, I agree that it is extremely hard to know which privileges are reserved only for their Gold and Iberia top tier and which one are available to Emerald and Sapphire. For example the Fast track security at LHR T3 has no sign showing anything related to OWE (it only says "By Invitation")... Did I mention I don't like BA anymore?

I looked at this info from BA and thought - wrongly - that, as WP (OWE), I am not entitled to anything.

Cost me 10 quids

Should have dug deeper and longer for this info instead where OWE is acknowledged.

I will now PRINT out this little gem to take with me - as part of my OW library.

You need to know where to look - as indicated if you emerald number had been in the booking it would not have cost those £.

I have this link bookmarked after reading FT threads while doing research for travel on BA: British Airways Trade Support - Seating

"(or oneworld equivalents)"

QF wp now get priority security at lhr T5 too... Pps. Avoid the food in the BA lounges at LHR.

You can change FF schemes using the Finnair trick (use Their mmb functionality). did this last weekend without issue.

In my QF MMB, the intra-Europe BA trip is listed - after I had changed FF to my QFF number (by calling up BA).

It does allow you, on QF screen, to select seats incl. exit rows.

There you go, enter your WP number on booking and then log on to QF MMB to get free exit row seats on BA flights (intra Europe in my case) without the need to call up the (Indian) BA call centre.

Interesting to see the tight integration between BA & QF (post EK partnership).

It's more the case that the integration continues ... never had a problem over the years ... travelling with SWMBO, we have never been out of the A/C front row economy pair when travelling BA in that class between Europe and LON (that took some diligence and could only be managed online).
