Hi all,

I am 375 SC's off WP with a deadline of 30th November. More than possible I think! I have 1 or 2 30 SC round trips in the pipeline between SYD and MEL, but nothing substantial. 110K points in the bank, waiting to be used towards WP. Am I being a bit optimistic?

The majority of my SC's this year have been blasted red e-deals so would rather tip in a bit more to make it over the line than have the efforts wasted!

Forgot to add - home base is SYD (or NTL which is closer - doubt anything worthwhile from NTL tho)

Are you really going to get the benefit of WP? 375SC's off is still over 25% off it (1400 required).

Take a look at Best Status Run Options - A quick overview! if you're after some JASA's. You could get the 375 SC's with your points (plus pay) but you'll have a low balance after. You need to decide what is best for you and what your travel patterns will be post-qualifying really.

Drew is right; and look at the Best Status Run option.

One suggestion using points on JASAs. (J any seat award)

SYD-BNE-DRW in J. 120SCs (points don't know)
DRW-BNE-TSV in J, 140SCs (points less than you think)
TSV-BNE-SYD in J, 100Scs (do you want me to do your work for you,)

I hope that helps.

I will have a fair few international trips next year, and honeymoon so it would be great to take the other half into the F lounge.

With that amount of points, I think you would still have quite a few points left over if you plan the JASA's correctly.

Remember if you go for it, the next year you will only need 1200 SC for WP.

I *really* wouldn't bother trying with NTL- it is my home airport and the only options are QantasLink to BNE, or deathstar (of which you need to purchase the upgrade pack to earn points) to BNE, OOL or MEL... Obviously you can connect on from these places, but if you are equally close to SYD I would just use that as the base

Ahh yes. Happy wife, Happy life and all that. I don't think she'd ever forgive you if you were close and didn't make the effort to please her (by getting her into the F Lounge ;)).

48000 points for SYD-BNE-TSV return (plus a few hundred dollars) which earns you around 5960 points (not including any potential loyalty bonuses) and 200 SC's. That's around 42k points 'out of pocket' which is a large chunk. The OP needs 375, so close enough two of these, being 84k points out of their total starting bank of 110k (Say less 8k, that's 76k from 110k which is nearly 70% of their points.

I was assuming the OP would do a positioning flight to get some of the better JASA runs.

On the positive side if you need to position from NTL with JQ, they have the Plus Bundles half price at the moment.

Welcome to the forum! got to look after the other half but she may get used to flying up the front of the plane and expect that to be the 'regular' way of travelling( like mine does now!)

Found one up and back on same day SYD - BNE - TSV in J, 48K points and $264 earning 200 SC's. I think this is a good start!
