Status run and only a stays run nets you 300sc for that one on a spen of about $600 try to get that in Australia!
Understood. I used these fares last year but at least I went somewhere :!:
(LAX-DFW-TPA, then PBI-DFW-SEA-SFO-LAX)

How about 280 SCs for ~AUD580 in Asia and I do not have to go the USA! Have my normal holiday in SE Asia and find creative ways to get to/from BKK that is not going to waste too much of my holiday.

I feel it is much better than looking for cheap ways to get to the USA so one can fly around for a couple of days, not really going anywhere and certainly not leaving the airports for very long, to get status and then return to Australia. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat....

Did that 2 days running last october (overnighted at an SFO airport hotel).

Quite a nice run actually. AS F is infinitely nicer than AA F. Don't forget the T4-T3 airside shuttle (via the American Eagle terminal) if you don't feel inclined on the 10 minute walk. Also, you have AS Boardroom access in T3 as a full F fare pax. Nice view of VH-OEJ coming and going each day I had:)

Another useful benefit of WP is the "anytime" access to the domestic lounges. I have found this a surprising bonus when needing to be at the airport for family and friends. Very good - Cheers QF...!
