Thanks to everyone here who posted that you can have three $50 transactions at one shop to get the 3000 bonus points. When I read the email from American Express I would have thought I'd have had to go to three different stores on the list.

I had three transactions on Wednesday evening at BIG W (a $50 gift card and two purchases of $58 and $74) and the bonus points have posted today.

I did the three purchases on Saturday and the bonus points posted with the third purchase..

I picked up 3x $50 Wishcards at BigW in 3 seperate transactions. Points were posted the next day. I agree, great value for the points ( $1 = 21 points).

Similarly, I did the 3 x $50 at Kmart and the gift cards are valid to be used at Coles and Liquorland, so that works perfect for me. And the bonus points posted the next day

Is there a way to check if I was targetted without the email? As I may have deleted it... I'm not 100% sure. If I call up AMEX will they have any clue?

Absolutely, ring CS and ask if your card was enrolled. To quote the email:

There’s no need to register your American Express Card – we've already enrolled you in this offer

Thanks. I'm on hold with membership rewards now. Sounds like it's in the USA the call centre. The CS is looking into it for me now...

We hd forgotten to organise the staff Xmas bonuses. Last year we did gift cards, so I volunteered to organise them on my way home. 3K points in the bag, as we give $50 ones to our 4 staff.

Hmmm, maybe I get 2 x $50 gift cards in Big W and the other 2 x $50 at Woolies to go against my wife's required $150 spend for bonus 1K points - damn, don't have her card. Maybe I get her a new card and print out the barcode for use this afternoon .

Why not? Just purchase 3 x $50 gift cards per card and hopefully you'll get the points. Even if you did this with all three cards, that's an $450 outlay for gift cards which you can use at Kmart, Coles, Liquorland for up to two years anyway. You could eaisly buy grocieres, or washing powder or what not over the two year period.

Was an idiot on Thursday night, bought $200 worth of Myer gift cards and forgot to split it

Back to Big W yesterday morning for another $50 wishcard.

I did similar at Kmart- handed over the Amex, but then "realised" I had the wrong card before she put it through. Swapped for the WW EDR Card... Stupid!

Went back following day to purchase another card with the initial, correct, Amex. Still, for 3000 points on grocery money I would have spent anyway I can't complain.

I bought a $150 coles myer gift card from kmart and paid in 3x$50 separate transactions. Bonus paid with the third transaction.

I took up this offer but no points yet. After reading that some had got the points I emailed AMEX and the response was yes I qualified but points would take 8-10 weeks to post. I have a platnium card through my professional association. Is that the difference?
