Xmas gift from Velocity

I just got a call for a free Christmas upgrade to J on my flight tomorrow from Darwin to Melbourne.

Was on the points upgrade list already, but getting it for free now Wonder if I would have got it from a saver fare.

Rep mentioned plat status and booking myself on their website as reasons for their generosity.

So of the four (Qantas/Virgin/JetStar/AIRNZ) Australian/NZ airlines is it only AIRNZ that give "Xmas" gifts ?
