xONE4 departing AKL

Gday everyone, ive been loving all the info on xONEx fares for a few months now, and hit the limit of guest view in a day haha. i couldnt imagine not reading more so had to join!!

My problem/question:
I've been playing with xONEx routes for a 12mth trip the missus and i will begin in January, with all the plans being based around the the AKL-SCL first leg with LAN (the saving by starting in NZ is amazing, the best tip from AFF for sure).
now i've gone to the trip planner to put in the final route and purchase, this time on selecting flights, not a single LAN flight is displaying, all AKL-SCL are showing as qantas via SYD/MEL-LAX/DFW/NYC

I've checked LAN and they are certainly still flying the route for the days ive requested (ive tried plenty)

Anyone out there know anything?

Okay, it seems January has quite a lot of days not availables for L class... but if i select Business they all show up again.
It is my understanding that i cant get 1 business flight in an Explorer ticket.
a full DONE4 is well out our price range

L class is an economy code. So a LONE4 is a 4 continent in Economy class. So there may be no L class seating loaded / it's full already.

Are you trying for Business or economy?

There is the possibility of paying a supplement from L to Y+ on some routes / segments.

I can see L9 on January 29th for LA801 AKL-SCL - that is the only day in January I can see any L availability.

There is some L on the Qantas codeshare (QF321) in the last week of December.

Tis the problem with the LONE product - the L can be hard to get, particularly over holiday periods.

While I haven't tried this, I assume if you utilise the provisions to upgrade a segment into Business,you look at D availability for that segment.
See the fare rules for the cost of this.
I doubt this can be looked online though.

I would also recommend a trial/subscription of expertflyer to more quickly search for available dates.

No real harm in going AKL-SYD/MEL-SCL, we had a sector spare. i might cop a bit of whinging from the missus. Should pick up extra status credits too??

absolutely....

depending on where you are going after SCL you need to convince her to let you do a quick YUP if going to the US...
get yourself to Gold/ Plat and have lounge access for both of you for the rest of the trip
