Did you ask for a mid flight baguette?

No, sorry. I really wasn't hungry after the lunch! :) Have some pics of lunch and brekky, and might get around to posting them after I get home. After lunch was served (due to take off delay, I had two glasses of the Heidsick while on the ground in BNE), I pretty much tried to sleep, and was quite successful until about two hours before landing in LAX when the FA turned the reading light on for the seat next to mine. I woke up almost every hour or so, but kept forcing myself to go back to sleep. Probably got about 6-8 hours sleep; waking up at 4:30am on the day of departure probably helped my weariness!

Yes - I wish that the flights to USA would leave in evening so that one could get quality sleep on way over (similar to way that return flights leave US late at night).

I find that short-changing yourself on sleep the night before and a judicious application of alcohol on the day of is enough to send me to sleep for the flight to the US.. ;)

Failing that, I believe that VA have a PM departure SYD-LAX.

Congrats on the amenity kit and thanks for the update.

The Y+ standard amenity kit is the same one as Y - the small pouch with sox and eyeshade (and toothbrush still?)

So nothing to write home about.

The blankets in standard Y+ are the same as those used in biz class.
