"You are in top 5% of Velocity Flyers." - and that is it??

At least they know you exist... I've been a QFF since 1997, have nearly 1M points. Never had any personal recognition in the form of "Thanks for being a member for 22 years" or some such correspondence. No big deal personally, but if I had a customer who'd stuck with me for 22 years, I'd probably say thanks once in a while.

Top 5%, 22 thousand km.
20 flights according to the email which is three short - their systems are a big lagging.

As a QF reference point, I received an email this week saying I was top 5% of Gold flyers, with 61057km and 27 flights on the dash8-300. Just a reminder that my status comes via largely a painful 10sc at a time.

I got the email, but it says nothing about where I rank in the top x%. It says I took 7 VA flights this year and flew 21,290 km. I actually took 8 VA flights during the calendar year though, including MEL-LAX rtn, which is 25,400 km on its own. I'd say I comfortably covered more than 30,000 km on VA flights this year.

Weirdly, last year's email said I took 15 flights and flew 34,500 km and I was in the top 3%. In reality, I took just 11 VA flights during 2018, all of which were between MEL and SYD or ADL, so I can't see how I would have even covered 10,000 km that year.

In other words, I suspect their statistics are complete nonsense!

I still ended up in the top 10% even though all my status credits have recently expired (except the free 10 from the recent 10 million members giveaway), having not flown for over a year on a ticket which is eligible for earn...

Anyone else received a 50% off Getaway fares on all domestic flights departing 29 February in a separate email containing the December statement? I happened to be short of 1 sector so I've booked a cheap status run...

“Top 5%” with 25k kms and 19 flights. Most of my miles are earned via SQ.

@AIRwin I got that 50% off on 29th Feb offer too.

5% - 19 flights - 30,947 klm (not sure if included EY CNS-ROM-CNS) - 50% bonus.

Daugter #1 did 2 flights (no loyalty email) but general marketing email offering TRIPLE points. That’s 600% more than me as 3rd year Platinum member.

Not the smartest PR move 🤔👎🤬

Top 1% here ( same the last 3 years they've been sending these emails out )

46 flights (another 3 more to go before Christmas )
62648kms
317747points earned

50% bonus points offered, but no flights to book.

Doesn't tell me what percentage I was but maybe because my big flights were SQ. So maybe not even close to middle ranked.
Earned 418K points though so not too bad considering I've not converted anything over to VA this year.

No idea how they work this stuff out, apparently top 2% with 29 flights, less than 20 000km, another part of the email indicates my points have gone up by around 242000. Not in the email however since late May this year I have clocked up north of 1900 SCs, put it all together and it makes no sense.

Did not check either sectors or points earned or flights as I am sure they posted correctly.

All I looked for was something useful to ME in this strange email, and now learn here that some non Elites get a 3 times better offer than Plats.

Some brilliant marketing by Virgin.

Top 1% here too with 57 flights and 48k km. Not sure of the end date they used, but my records show 67 flights to the end of November.

Also got 50% points offer.

Top 5% with just over 19k Km flown. I think I'm that 499,999th person!

I got top 5%, with only 20 flights but 70,542km.

Seems maybe the percentage is weighted more to number of sectors flown.

Once I re-qualified WP until Oct 2020, I started switching to QF.

Top 1% with 53 flights at 66,060km. The % probably doesn't mean much considering 10 million+ members and likelihood that many don't fly at all/barely.

More impressive thing with anyone over 40,000km is that you circled the globe in a 737 (probably). ;)

Heaven help us! I also had two flights on the infamous Max 8 in India with Jet Airways. One before the lion air crash and one after. I can tell you I was very nervous on the second flight.

Top 1%. 83 flights, 90,371km flown.

Do I win? 😁

Quite a big drop from last year for me, when I did 120+ flights.

Noticed I've been upgraded to business class at the gate a few times this year. I wondered whether it meant I was a particularly high value guest. Seems it does.

101 flights and 99k km flown, I think it’s about 10 flights short. Never been upgraded at the gate 😢. Last year did 130 flights

I didn't get an email - I'll put it down to the spam filter perhaps.

This is the first year I've only flown Virgin domestically up to around 80 flights and all international travel was DL/SQ. I reckon I got close to 100 flights all up. I should do the tally.

I didn't get the opportunity to fly Qantas once this year. Nor did I fly Jetstar or Tiger for that matter. This is the first calendar year I've been very loyal to one network and I feel I have got benefit as a frequent flyer. I am also easily pleased and never want to be the person who complains about crumbs on a lounge floor :p:p:p
