You haven’t lived until…

Given all the comments, why am I still alive. I have checked my pulse in case anyone is asking...

I've been rescued off a chair lift once in Colorado. Was roped off the chair. Not sure if it counts in this illustrious company

I have had a fairly adventurous life and several of my sharpest memories relate to near death experiences.
Perhaps my best YHL experiences have come during a fairly short career in equestrian endurance.
Starting an 80k ride at 3 in the morning , the track wound it's way up to a ridge line. My horse always tended to think he would win in the first 20k and to that end was always a bit .er.. exuberant at the start. . Anyway as we reached the top I ordered a breather and was immediately surrounded by a zillion fireflies. The dawn was just breaking ,and as we walked along in the silence ,miles from anyone and anywhere , it was a very special moment and probably the top of my list...

You know what they say about self-medicating! :D

Bucket lists have been around for a while and often bring out some interesting responses.

{P.S. I can never hear "bucket list" without thinking of that scene in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World! (Jimmy Durante)

Stopped, got out to take some photos and was approached by another person with a camera asking if I knew when the planes would be flying through the valley, had no idea it was a bit of a training run. Didn't see any planes, but the countryside is stunning.
This conversation is as supernatural as it is creepy. Did the person vanish into midair after you finish your photoshoot 🤣 🤣

5. Been invited to a wedding spontaneously that you happened to stumble upon.
My wife and I did no. 5 in an oasis town in Tunisia in the desert, all the ladies dressed in full black, totally covered with just one eye showing. She was invited to the wedding and amazingly I was allowed to come too. Men and women in separate rooms but amazingly I was allowed into the women’s area, the rumours that under those all covering outfits they wear outfits that would wow in a nightclub is totally true. Amazing experience!
