Re: Youngest Ever Etihad Residence Travellor

so there is no way to use amex points to get into eithard residences ? I can see that etihad first class is possible

First class including apartments is fine on points. The three-bedroom residence can be booked on points through the Etihad program.

I think I saw the artcile that the residences are somehgint like 2.2m points! wont be happening for me in my lifetime unfortunately,

however first and bsuienss class seem possible,

I saw some of hte tables and it seemed velocity poitns was 10% less required compared to etihad miles,
given amex converts to velocity 1:1, is this the better way?

If you are earning Amex Membership Rewards points they should be transferable to Etihad Guest. The transfer rate may vary depending on which Amex program you are enrolled in.

thank you, subseuqent research made me realise I can earn via etihad program via amex, I can get 1:1 if im not mistaken on the ascent program,
but according to the tables ,it seemed that velocity rates vs etihad were different sometimes higher or lower

I havent managed to compare taxes either so it must be a tax thing too

maybe people who have used points to book in the past could offer insight

Re: Youngest Ever Etihad Residence Travellor

You can book The Residence with Etihad Guest miles but only as an OpenSeat award i.e. trading points for a revenue seat. The cost is close to 2.2 million miles for SYD-AUH one way for one person.

Sorry yes I was in fact remembering that you can't book The Residence through Etihad staff travel.
Although you can book The Apartments.

What happened to this guy? I visited his site for the first time in a long time the other day and it appears to be a wasteland. Sporadic stories at best and in fact nothing at all for weeks.

Perhaps his parents have run out of credit cards to apply for? The AmEx deval would probably clip his wings also.

I read this part and where he said he was coming back. But then nothing since. Seems it was not to be. Hope he’s ok.

Its not the first time the "I'm back post" has appeared followed by silence on this blog.
