Many of us have planned at least a few trips for next year and for the first time ever I shall be overseas on New Year's Eve.

I'll be in BKK meeting a few other AFFers, I also have a JASA to the USA planned for late May.

I expect to get to WP easily enough but cannot see me retaining WP1. :(

I also hope to reach LTG with only 2,200 SCs left to attain.

So what are your flying goals/aspirations for 2014?

I should be borderline WP (first time WP after first FF flight October 2012) by the time I get back from the trip at the end of February. Then I'll work on retaining it.

Jan - US

Feb - US, Japan, Singapore

Apr - PER via OOL & MEL

June - UK via UAE & possibly Germany.

Some AFF meetups would be good too.

As per previous years, i've already got the first half of 2014 pretty well covered in planned and booked travel.

I suspect that work is going to throw in some curve balls with a few EU and US trips, but until then, I have pretty much got VA WP re-qual in the bag, I have QF WP already thru to 2015 so don't need to start thinking about that for 6 months or so.

2012 was a record for me, 2013 was in the top 5. I suspect 2014 may end up eclipsing both (and if WP1 was worth it, I would swap all my flights back to QF).

My goals for new tourist destinations are Burma and Poland/Latvia (and return to Russia while I'm in the neighbourhood).

Expecting 6 or so work trips to Canada (hopefully all in their spring / summer).

Extended trip to Scotland for Homecoming Scotland 2014 | VisitScotland for which I'm writing a book on my Scots ancestors :)

Hoping to get back to Velocity Gold along the way.

Travel will sadly slow down significantly for me in 2014. I have a milestone birthday so am currently planning a trip to the Maldives via Dubai and Singapore to celebrate. If I could also convince the gentleman, Christmas in NYC would be a lot of fun. Have managed to retain WP for 2014 but no chance of that next year.

Travel related

Fly to a new airport, (booked), Esperance Western Australia, there may be others.
Fly a new airline, Flyscoot is an option.
Retain VA Gold status (DSC from Virgin will help)
Reach Qantas Lifetime silver and retain Qantas Gold.

May-NYC and New England. Then England and Scotland returning via BKK and KUL.New airport-ABZ.Return to BA F for the first time since they dropped F from BNE-in other words a long, long time ago.

September-Japan-Sendai and Sapporo.Followed by Cruise Otaru-Lautoka 30 days visiting small islands with Guam the mid point.

December-Pattaya,BKK then on to Myanmar cruising for Christmas and New Year on the Irrawaddy.New airports-RGN,MDL.

Our goal for 2014 is to end the year with less frequent flyer points than we start off the year. I think an AFF member told me that this is "living the dream" so I do hope he is spot on.

I will easily retain WP, and hope to get gold for my partner. Not sure if I get WP1 but fail to see the benefits. Due to weather storms a few weeks ago in the states I had to 'join' another alliance as I flew their aircraft to get around it. My aspiration is to get to LTG, but that won't be next year ... maybe the year after. So far planned, to Darwin and to Melbourne and return in January. Germany and UK for business in Feb/March (possibly Spain and Denmark too). USA in May for personal reasons, then to Cuba for business. Mexico and Cuba in September for business. A couple of trips to Darwin as no 1 daughter and grandchildren are there. A few more trips to Melbourne, and a couple of trips to Singapore. That is my 2014 so far ..... hopefully not too much more! My warm wishes for the New Year to everyone and for peace in your hearts, peace in uour homes, peace in the world and achieving your flying goals/aspirations.

With my travel restrictions finally lifted, my main goal for 2014 is to get along to more AFF events and be a good Social Ambassador. I'm sure I'll be travelling a lot less, but more frequently interstate, so retaining Platinum may be difficult, but hopefully that'll help save me some money too!

That said, mum is talking about the UK mid-year, which would be nice. Might finally try out this DXB thing I've been hearing about :p

oops, personal aspiration ...... to get to India with nbr 2 daughter to do a Rickshaw Challenge! That is one trip I really want to happen. :-)

You have some great trips planned! Hope you enjoy them! :-)

January will be Canberra/Sydney/Hobart and QF gold for the first time.
May and October are both trips to the US, flying international J for the first time.
A quick weekend in BNE/OOL already booked, and I'm sure I'll collect a few more short trips along the way.

I haven't got much planned so far for 2014. Just weekends in BNE/OOL, and AKL. Would like to try and fit in what is becoming an annual trip to ORD sometime around August. A job change might make flying a little difficult this year.

2014 will be much the same as the last few years if all goes well. First sector of the new year will see me cross the million mile BIS mark which has been a goal for a couple of years now.

Starting the year with 160 SC's with a goal to retain QF WP .
Feb NZ. Seeing my mum turn 80.
Then nothing planned till May, BNE -MEL-DXB - LHR and return.
Back to NZ in August for the Bledisloe. That will leave me short by 40 SC's to retain WP.
No doubt a trip or 2 domestic will see me make the grade.

In spite of all the enhancements I am still loyal to QF.
So no plans to,defect to VA as main provider of flights.

Looking to begin banking miles/points as I plan a major trip in 2016 for landmark birthday celebration in France ( somewhere ) so 2015 may be a bit lean

Jan-Feb Asia/USA
May -ditto-
Aug - Indonesia
Oct - China
Dec - Guam

In between numerous domestic travels.

Having done one, it was a great way of seeing India. Not for the faint hearted but I do recommend it :)

I will reach LTG by the end of Jan (must book the last 17 SCs before DSC offer ends)

Europe in April on a FASA

HKG in June for the lounge crawl

After that I have no idea. The Marquesas are on my bucket list though. I'm not really fussed whether I retain WP or not for 2015. I may start crediting to some other FF program instead.
