Well, my travel is all done for April, and for the first time in 3 years I have no travel planned for the immediate future! Of course that would have to happen just after I achieved WP.......:(

A very well-deserved rest and WP achievement, if you ask me.

Your case is an example of where, I believe, the QFF status system doesn't work so well. With the sheer volume of travel you do, irrespective of class of travel, it should have been easier to achieve top-tier.

But, as we all know, the system is heavily slanted in favour of premium travel.

Would it not be fair to say that were it not slanted heavily in favour of premium travel then every tom d1ck and harry in Australia who fly weekly or monthly for a living would be WP? We are talking probably into the tens of thousands more FF's into the lounges and expecting OP-UP's and other perks...

Just about every miner and associated trade would be in the QP.... At the end of the day, its the "Premium Traveller" who funds all those $50 fares we see flying around.... ;)
I can see the argument from both sides of the fence but I believe QF have it right with this one... (BTW, I have not flown QF in 3 years and have no status or loyalty to them, so perhaps that clouds my judgement).

In general, I'd totally agree with you.

I benefit from QFF's perception of the relative value of premium class travellers. I perceive myself as an "infrequent" premium flyer (and I know the definition of frequency is relative:))

But, in the case of the flying patterns of fantic125, it'd hard to pigeon-hole these into the average FIFO-type traveller. Perhaps a miles-based qualification option (rather than sector-based)?

Anyways, a discussion best left to another thread at another time.
