YouTubers. Youtubers everywhere [Travel Bloggers]

Very niche but I watch Japanese Youtubers...to the surprise of no one! 🤣
Solo Travel Japan has English subtitles if anyone's interested. Kuga's Travel is another, he has one English channel and another one in Japanese.
Many others but if you don't speak Japanese probably no good...

There's a certain style to the Japanese Youtubers, which is to say I find them much much less annoying than, you know, Sam Chui etc...

The Flip Flop Traveller
Flight Formula
Vicarious Voyager

These are probably my top three. If they're posting, I'm watching.

TFFT pumps out an insane amount of high quality, well narrated content, and brings hotel industry experience to his accommodation reviews. FlightFormula is down to earth and has a uniquely entertaining and comedic style. Vicarious Voyager's videos are well edited with a huge amount of work going especially into silky smooth animations.

I don't think he's been mentioned yet but Ricky from Prince of Travel is also pretty good, and Marcel Brinkpeter (formerly flytoptier) has outstanding production quality and detail if you can make it past his pretentiousness.

More destination oriented than flight review, I'll also never miss an Attache upload.

I watch them both, also practically every Shigetabi release, and the occasional Onoda, Suit, and US生活&旅行 video

Good Lord - can honestly say I've never heard of any of them! Might have to take a peek.

Well, I can already say that Attaché has gone straight to the pool room. 👍

Alex is great. He's got quite the CV - he was part of the founding team of Virgin America, went on to become global Head of Online Marketing for Virgin Group. He's also a co-host of travel podcast Layovers if you like his style.

I think I've binged all the flight formula content the past few weeks, there was a great story in one of the videos of how he got into the points game as a teenager in high school. Some awkward gifs and memes as others mentioned, but worth a watch.

Noel Philips is entertaining and annoying at the same time - like a car crash, you can't help but watch.

There's a few others I've enjoyed watching but not remembered who they are - i think there's an Aussie guy who often flies with his wife and is more a Lux traveller. I prefer the aspirational videos generally when seek out this content, unless looking for something practical for an upcoming travel.

I prefer the ones who don't show themselves...🤣
Or as little as possible!
Trip around JP is another one I like.

Edit, I do get lots of Youtube recommendations and sometimes find good ones for the places I am researching, don't subscribe much though.

Jeb is very much a travel reviewer, although I am not sure what industry Jeb is in.

I went down this rabbit hole during covid. He took over his father's seemingly quite successful sales training business.

He was previously listed as part of the exec team but is no longer - he may have stepped away to pursue Youtube full time.

In terms of aviation related youtubers, one that pops up for me from time to time is Simply Aviation. Just basically reviewing the flight, usually don't see or hear from them at all, and mainly do economy reviews.

One more for the mix: Travelog, whose videos are anonymous and who has a day job, both of which are always promising signs in the world of Youtube flight reviews. Patrick Shea also assembles detailed flight reviews of obscure airlines (but always has weird sound).

(Otherwise, as mentioned Simply Aviation, Jeb Brooks, Flight Formula, and TFFT are all worth a look.)

Ooh yes, I’m another vote for Kuga - we like his videos very much and enjoy his quirky sense of humour.

Ricky is a hit and miss for me. His website reviews are quite good but the interface is awful and it's nearly impossible to search. The videos I sometimes enjoy, the Q Suite bucks was a cool idea, but sometimes he comes off a little entitled?

That being said his travel agency got me a ripper deal for the Fairmont Whistler so I'm happy about that.

A couple of others I enjoy, who are wildly different are Small Brained American and Sam and Victor.
Small Brained American is probably quite polarising though his captions are hilarious and he is currently travelling Japan top to bottom and visiting some unique places.
Sam and Victor are probably more your cliche slow travel vloggers who do a lot of shopping and cafe hopping but if you're going somewhere they have visited there is always some great recommendations.

Actually surprised AFF hasn’t launched a YouTube channel.

Parent company Point Hacks seems to be publishing more Youtube content lately: Point Hacks

Content targeting AFF users might be a bit too niche and video editing is quite resource intensive. Publishing videos of the joint AFF/Point Hacks Travel Pointers podcast might be an easy win though.
