Am I correct in saying that flights ticketed in Z class on Hawaiian Airlines (extra comfort) do not earn points or status credits?

What I want to know is why when booking direct with Hawaiian airlines the tickets are around $1,200 return but through Virgin they are over $2.3k! WHAT A JOKE...
